Trump and Biden: Remarks on Final Presidential Debate

The U.S. final presidential debate held in Nashville, Tennessee on Thursday evening saw Trump and Biden raise key points to woe undecided American voters, according to Reuters. Here are the important topics they discussed:

  • COVID-19 Pandemic
    • Trump. America has learned a lot, studied, and understands the disease. 
    • Biden. America is learning to live with coronavirus and people are learning to die with it. 
  • Foreign Policy
    • Biden-Trump has legitimized North Korea and says America is better off when “North Korea is much more capable of firing a missile that is able to reach U.S. territory.”
    • Trump-America is not in war with North Korea.
  • Climate Change and Energy
    • Trump. Questioned if Biden would close down the oil industry. 
    • Biden. Does not oppose fracking, but  “would transition from the oil industry. … Because the oil industry pollutes, significantly.” 
  • Healthcare
    • Trump. Believes no matter how the Affordable Care Act is run, it is no good. 
    • Biden. “People deserve to have affordable health care.”
  • Race
    • Trump. Has reformed the justice and prison, created opportunity zones, and helped black colleges and universities
    • Biden.  Trump is a racist citing getting rid of “Mexican rapists” and banning Muslims.
  • Immigration
    • Biden. Separating children on the border is inhumane and makes America a laughingstock.
    • Trump. Children were brought by coyotes and cartels. America has to let them legally.
  • Markets
    • Trump. If Biden is elected, stock markets will crash. 
    • Biden. The stock market is Trump’s only measure of what is happening, yet people don’t live on the stock market.
