(Eurostat) Euro area led the EU in international trade in goods surplus in June at 18.1 billion euros against the latter’s 14.8 billion euros.

At 18.1 billion trade surplus, the euro area still lagged June 2020 surplus, when it was 20 billion euros.
Intra-euro area trade jumped to 188 billion euros, up 24.6% from the comparable month of 2020.
January to June 2021 saw exports of goods from the euro area to the rest of the world increase by 15.5% to 1,172.5 billion euros. Imports surged by 15.2% to 1,070.1 billion euros during the same period.
In the EU, the 14.8 billion euros trade surplus declined from the 20 billion euros surplus recorded in June 2020. Intra-EU trade increased by 24.6% year over year to 294.4 billion euros in June 2021.
During the January-June period, exports of goods from the EU to the rest of the world rose by 13.8% year over year to 1,048.9 billion euros. Imports gained 13.9% to 964.5 billion euros during the period.
In January-June 2021, the euro area trade surplus was 102.5 billion euros, compared to the 84.4 billion euros surplus in the EU.
