Tokyo’s Ku-area Posts a 0.5% Monthly Jump in Consumer Prices in September

(Statistics Bureau of Japan) Consumer prices surged by 0.5% in the Ku-area of Tokyo to reach an index of 100.1 in September from August. The index was up 0.3% year over year.

The all items, less fresh food, index was 99.8, up 0.1% month over month and year over year.

Less fresh food and energy, consumer prices index was 99.7, down 0.1% year over year but 0.1% higher than August.

The goods price index was 101.6, up 1.5% year over year and higher by 1.3% from August. The services price index was 99.0, down 0.6% year over year and 0.4% below August.

Nikkei 225 is down -2.29%, USDJPY is up +0.29%.
