(Bloomberg) Tesla Inc. has unveiled a 5,000 kilometer or 3,100-mile supercharging route in China, with 27 electric-car charging stations along the stretch.
Tesla unveiled the supercharging route, which it claims to be the longest through a promotional video.
Nine cities are along the charging route which cuts from the east to the west of the vast country and loosely follows a similar path as China’s Silk Road.
Tesla has stepped up the building of charging facilities recently, as they are seen vital to the uptake of electric cars.
The EV maker has already set up about 840 charging stations in China and at least 65,000 supercharging poles across over 310 cities.
The recent unveiling of charging stations occurs following recent bans of Tesla’s cars from China’s military complexes and high-profile protests over its cars.
TSLA: NASDAQ is down -0.45% on premarket.
