(Electrek) Tesla is recruiting to fill new positions relating to building a humanoid robot, dubbed the Tesla Bot.
Some of Tesla’s advertised positions include an electrical engineer, a mechanical design engineer, controls engineer, autonomy, and test engineer. Others are software engineers, an embedded firmware engineer, and an engineering technician.
The humanoid production will be reportedly situated in Austin, Texas. The advertised positions are based in Tesla’s headquarters Palo Alto, and one in Austin.
The reports of a Tesla bot come at a time when Elon Musk has championed a humanoid robot, with the CEO hinting at first developing a working prototype of it next year.
The EV maker is already constructing a Gigafactory in Austin for the planned production of Model Y, Tesla Semi, Cybertruck, and battery cells. The facility could allow more expansions.
