Tencent Revenues Grow 20% in Q2 on Strong Advertising and Business Services Lines

(Tencent) Chinese tech giant Tencent posted a revenue of RMB138.3 billion or $21.4 billion in the second quarter, up 20% from the comparable quarter of 2020.

Tencent’s revenues were boosted by Business Services and advertising, with online advertising up 23% to RMB22.8 billion in the second quarter.

FinTech and Business Services revenues rose by 40% year over year to RMB41.9 billion in the second quarter.

Operating profit in the second quarter was RMB42.8 billion or $6.6 billion, up 14% year over year. 

For the first half of the year, revenues were up 23% year over year to RMB273.6 billion or $42.3 billion.

Half year operating profit rose 17% year over year to RMB85.6 billion or $13.2 billion.
