(Sunshine) Shares of Sunshine Biopharma Inc. rose more than 180% on Tuesday after saying two of its designed mRNA molecules could neutralize cancer cells grown in culture.
Sunshine said that the cytotoxic tests were conducted on various types of cancer cells that included multidrug resistant breast cancer cells.
The company said that the studies using non-transformed human cells illustrated that the mRNA molecules had minimal or no cytotoxic effects.
Sunshine said that the new mRNA molecules are readily adaptable for shipping into patients using the mRNA vaccine technology.
Sunshine now expects to file a patent application for the molecules soon after the promising studies.
