As U.S. stock markets gear up to open, some companies are already experiencing positive gains in pre-market trading. Carrier Global Corp. (CARR) is up 5.4%, while Smartsheet Inc. (SMAR) has seen a 3.8% increase.
Other notable gainers include Roblox Corp. (RBLX), First Solar Inc. (FSLR), and CRISPR Therapeutics AG (CRSP), all of which have posted gains of at least 3%. However, RH (RH) and Liberty Media Corp. Series A Sirius XM (LSXMA) have experienced declines, falling 8.4% and 2.6%, respectively.
Looking at the futures market, the S&P 500 futures are down 0.16%, while futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average have fallen 0.14%. The Cboe Volatility Index futures are also down by 0.14%.
In commodities news, Brent crude oil futures reflect an increase of 1.76%, while gold futures show a slight decline of 0.04%. Bitcoin has risen by 0.62% and is currently valued at $43,656.
Furthermore, the 10-Year Treasury yield has climbed to 4.181%.
Recapping the previous trading session, the S&P 500 and the Dow experienced gains of 0.80% and 0.17% respectively. Stocks in Asia displayed mixed performance, with Japan’s NIKKEI 225 Index dropping 1.68%, while China’s Shanghai Composite Index increased by 0.11%.
As we enter the afternoon trading session in Europe, stocks are on the rise. The STOXX Europe 600 Index shows an increase of 0.29%, and the FTSE 100 Index has climbed by 0.16% from the previous close.
