(PRNewswire) Spain’s largest airline Vueling is partnering with BitPay to make it possible for customers to pay using digital assets.
The airline will use the technology offered by UATP, a worldwide payment network, for the aviation sector for a quick integration process.
Vueling says that starting next year, anyone will be able to make use of the crypto payment service that will be available on the company’s website.
The airline says ticket prices will be displayed in Euros. Customers can pay from more than 100 wallets and will have access to 12 cryptocurrencies that include Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Dogecoin, and Shina Inu.
Vueling says that while making crypto payments, it will be recorded as a push transaction. This allows customers to make an exact payment rather than a withdrawal to eliminate the chances of fraudulent transactions.
Vueling manager of Distribution Strategy and Alliances, Jesús Monzó, says the deal affirms the airline’s position as a digital leader. He says the airline is pleased to partner with Bitpay to enable crypto payments for the greatest security and reliability.
