Sony Reported a 15% Jump in Q1 Revenue Buoyed by Games and Network Services

(Sony Group) Sony Group Corporation announced revenue of 2,256.8 billion yen in the first quarter of 2021, a 15% increase from 1,962.9 billion yen in the same period last year.

The company reported a diluted EPS of common stock of 169.22 yen, up from 155.27 yen in the first quarter of 2020.  

Sony Group’s net profit was up 16%, to 220.4 billion yen from 190.6 billion yen reported in the same period last year.

The largest gains in the company were from the revenue in Games and Network Services at 615.8 billion yen, up from 606.1 billion in the same quarter last year.

Sony Group Corporation sold part of its shares in Pledis Entertainment Co. Ltd worth over 7.2 billion yen in the quarter.
