(CNBC) Salesforce executives have reportedly revealed to their employees a plan to release an NFT cloud.
Salesforce Co-CEOs Marc Benioff and Bret Taylor are said to reveal the plan at an online event, with the cloud service set to be integrated into the company’s enterprise software.
The company executives referenced NFT-related work at Pepsi, seeing the same idea useful for its own ecosystem.
If Salesforce moves with the idea of the NFT marketplace, it could potentially cut out the usage of OpenSea.
The move happens when NFTs are growing in popularity, with Salesforce director of market strategy Mathew Sweezey, in December, saying that in 2022, more brands will see utility through the asset class.
