Roku Partners With Walmart to Bring Commerce to TV Ads

(Roku) Roku has announced that it has partnered with Walmart to bring featured products by the e-commerce retailer on its TV streaming platform.

The company says that Walmart will be the exclusive retailer to enable streamers to purchase featured products fulfilled by the retailer directly on Roku.

Roku says that the partnership involves shopping beyond the QR code and is expected to change how customers interact and shop video and TV content.

The American TV streaming platform says it is working to connect with customers where they are already spending time. The company says it will bring in a new shopping experience while enhancing a seamless checkout.

Peter Hamilton, Head of TV Commerce at Roku, says the company wants to make shopping on TV as easy as it is on social.

Roku says the pilot will broaden to bring more opportunities to grow commerce experiences at the point of consumer contact.

ROKU: NASDAQ is up +4.10%, WMT: NYSE is up +0.025%.
