(Robinhood) Meme token SHIB, Polygon’s MATIC, Solana’s SOL, and Compound’s COMP have been added to the Robinhood platform.
The additions follow a move, last week by the brokerage firm to activate its crypto wallet for 2 million “eligible” customers. The company said the customers will be able to make digital asset transfers in the long-firewalled investments app.
Robinhood’s move comes amid retail interest in crypto, with speculations emerging last year about potential crypto offerings by the brokerage firm. The company’s CEO Vlad Tenev said he would wait for regulatory clarity before making the move.
The latest addition supplements seven other cryptocurrencies offered by Robinhood, including BTC, ETH, and DOGE.
