Producer Prices up by 1.4% In the Euro Area and EU Fueling Inflationary Concerns

(Eurostat) The Euro area and the EU recorded a 1.4% jump in industrial producer prices in June from May.

Compared to June 2020, producer prices rose by 10.2% and 10.3% in the euro area and EU, respectively.

Producer prices had increased by 1.3% in the euro area and 1.4% in the EU in May this year.

Month over month rises in producer prices were highest in Denmark at 5.1%, Estonia by 4.6%, and Latvia at 3.1%. The largest decrease in producer prices was in Ireland at -3%.

Year over year rises in producer prices were the highest in Ireland at 42.5%, Belgium at 20.7%, and Denmark at 19.1%.
