Painterland Sisters, a dairy brand founded by sisters and fourth-generation dairy farmers, has closed its seed funding round led by angel investment groups The Angel Group, its partner fund Supernatural Ventures, and Spacestation Investments. Scoop Ventures also joined the round, along with angel investors including Olympic medalists, professional athletes, lifestyle entrepreneurs, and industry leaders.
The funding is a significant milestone for the fast-growing, female-founded brand, known for its organic skyr-style yogurt and its broader efforts to elevate dairy from the ground up.
Painterland Sisters’ impressive momentum has captured the attention of mission-aligned athletes and Olympic medalists, including Shawn Johnson and husband Andrew East, Tara and Hunter Woodhall, and Jakob and Olivia Chychrun.
Painterland Sisters has created a popular skyr yogurt packed with natural protein and probiotics, gaining traction among professional sports teams like the Denver Broncos and Pittsburgh Steelers. Founded by sisters Stephanie and Hayley Painter, fourth-generation farmers, the brand aims to preserve their organic regenerative dairy farm and connect consumers to local food sources while promoting land and community health.
In under three years, their lactose-free, high-protein skyr yogurt became a favorite nationwide, sold in over 5,000 stores and with more than 5.7 million cups sold in 2024. This growth reflects a rising consumer interest in sustainable dairy rooted in transparency. Each cup supports organic agriculture and rural revitalization.
The brand has attracted notable supporters, including Shea and Syd McGee of Studio McGee and key figures in the CPG industry, such as Kari Pedriana of Green Spoon Sales and Terry Brett of Kimberton Whole Foods.
Recent funding will support operations and innovation following their national launch at Whole Foods Market last month. The brand utilized over 8.7 million pounds of milk in 2024, emphasizing its commitment to dairy farmers and sustainable supply chains. This funding follows a $1.2 million raise on Wefunder in 2024, backed by over 700 investors who are focused on bridging the gap between consumers and American farmers.
