NYSE Gives Nod to Metaverse After Filing Application With the USPTO

(Twitter) The New York Stock Exchange has filed with the US Patent and Trademark Office to trademark NYSE for cryptocurrencies, NFTs, digital collectibles, and marketplaces.

The application, made on February 10, allows the listed assets to be traded and exchanged on the NYSE floor.

Trademark attorney Michael Kondoudis said that the listing allows the stock exchange to make forays into the metaverse. He says the metaverse is real, and NYSE is taking a proactive step to ensure leadership in the emerging space.

The application comes amid growing filings for trademarks in the metaverse, with the latest being the American lingerie brand Victoria Secret which made four related applications on February 13.

SANDUSD is up 4.59%, MANAUSD is up 7.71%.
