(Census Bureau) New single-family house sales in the US fell by 5.9% to hit 769,000 in May, trailing April’s rate of 817,000.
House sales in May were still 9.2% higher than May 2020’s 704,000 level.
Median sales price was $314,400, with the average sales price hitting $430,600.
About 330,000 new houses were available for sale at the end of May, representing a supply of 5.1 months.
