Nevada Leads other States in GDP Increases as Economic Reopening Bears Fruits

(BEA) Nevada state recorded a 10.9% jump in real GDP in the first quarter, as all 50 states and the District of Columbia recorded gains.

With a 10.9% jump in real GDP, Nevada outperformed the national annual rate of 6.4%

Accommodation and food services, which rose 16.9% nationally, were the leading contributors of GDP in Nevada.

Economic reopening and continued response to the pandemic contributed to the output growth.

Manufacturing relating to durable goods rose by 15.6% nationally and led to GDP increases in 48 states.

Professional, technical, and scientific services gained by 11.8% nationally and led to GDP rises in 50 states and the District of Columbia.

Information services rose by 14.4% nationally and led to GDP increases in the 50 states and District of Columbia.

Manufacturing of nondurable goods declined by 4.2% nationally, but had moderated contributions to GDP rises in 36 states.
