(Twitter) Facebook’s parent Meta has filed eight trademark applications to be allowed to offer various digital asset products and services in the metaverse.
Meta’s applications cover crypto tokens, blockchain software, virtual currency exchanges, financial and currency trading, and digital, crypto, and virtual currencies.
Michael Kondoudis, the metaverse trademark lawyer, says the filing by Meta would awaken a lot of interest in the financial and other sectors.
The application, now before the US Patent and Trademark Office, has been touted as the latest endeavor by the tech giant to make moves into the metaverse.
The move by Meta is the latest among firms that include American Express and football club Paris Saint Germain which have made similar moves into the metaverse.
