(Mastercard) Mastercard has announced that it has partnered with several crypto firms to facilitate NFT purchases through the use of card payments.
Mastercard’s executive vice president Raj Dhamodharan says the payments giant has partnered with The Sandbox, Immutable X, Candy Digital, Spring, Nift Gateway, and MoonPay for the NFT commerce.
Dhamodharan hinted at the desire to enhance flexibility in NFT payments in the latest announcement. He says that a recent survey by Mastercard showed that 45% of respondents bought an NFT or considered doing so.
Mastercard says that it has about 2.9 billion cards globally, making it play a big part in the NFT ecosystem.
The payments giant had already been working with Coinbase to support cash payments on its newly launched NFT platform.
