Manufacturing in the UK Eases to a 2-Month Low. Employment on a Record High

(IHS Markit) UK Composite Output Index eased to an expansion of 61.7 in June, down from a record 62.9 in May.

Service Business Activity index also eased to a 2-month low, after expanding by 61.7 points, down from May’s 62.9

The Manufacturing Output Index hit a 2-month low of 62.0, from May’s 63.0. Manufacturing PMI slipped to a 2-month low of 64.2, from 65.6 in May.

New orders recorded increases, although new export orders eased in June.

Job creation in the UK rose the strongest in the series history as companies added extra staff to cater for rising workloads.

Cost inflation rose for the fifth month and was the joint-fastest with June 2008.

FTSE 100 is up +0.14%, GBPUSD is up +0.08%.
