Manufactured Goods Orders Accelerate With a Gain of 1.6% in November

(Census Bureau) US new orders for manufactured goods reached $531.8 billion, after an increase of $8.4 billion or 1.6% in November.

The manufactured goods orders have now increased for the eighteen of the last nineteen months, with November gain higher than 1.2% jump in October.

Shipments rose by 0.7% or $3.5 billion to reach $527.0 billion, a lower increase compared to a 2.0% gain in October.

Unfilled orders rose for the tenth straight month to $1,260 billion, up 0.7% or $9.1 billion from the previous month. The orders had risen by 0.3% in October.

Inventories jumped 0.7% or $5.3 billion to $770.0 billion, lower than an increase of 0.9% in October. The inventories-to-shipments remained unchanged at 1.46%.
