Jobless Claims Plunges to 576,000, the Lowest Since Early Days of Pandemic

U.S jobless claims for the week ending April 10 was 576,000, down 193,000 from the previous week’s level, according to the Department of Labor press release. The jobless claims were the lowest since March 14, 2020 when total claims were 256,000.

The previous week’s jobless claims were revised up by 25,000 from 744,000 to 769,000

Continuous claims were 3.731 million, up 4,000 from the previous week’s revised level.

Previous week’s continuous claims were revised down by 7,000 from 3.734 million to 3.727 million.

The 4-week moving average was 683,000, down 47,250 from the previous week’s revised average.

Unadjusted, advance actual initial claims under state programs was 612,919 for the week ending April 10, down 20.0% from the previous week.

U.S stocks and the dollar are currently gaining. SPY is up 0.82%, QQQ is up 1.24%, EURUSD is down 0.11%
