JD.com Net Revenues Jump by 23% In the Fourth Quarter of 2021, Swings Into Loss

(JD.com) Chinese e-commerce giant JD.com announced net revenues of RMB275.9 billion or US$43.3 billion in the fourth quarter of 2021, an increase of 23% from the prior year. 

In FY21, JD.com’s net revenues rose by 27.6% year-over-year to hit RMB951.6 billion or $149.3 billion. 

The e-commerce giant reported a loss from operations of RMB392.0 million or $61.5 million in the fourth quarter, compared to an income of RMB594.9 million in the prior year. FY21, income from operations was RMB4.1 billion or $0.6 billion, down from RMB12.3 billion in the previous year.

The company’s diluted net loss per ADS was RMB3.33 or $0.52 in the fourth quarter, down from a diluted net income per ADS of RMB15.18 in the previous year. Diluted net loss per ADS in FY21 was RMB2.29 or $0.36, compared to a net income of RMB31.68 in the previous year.

JD.com announced that its annual active customer accounts rose by 20.7% to 569.7 million in 2021 from the previous year.
