(Bloomberg) The Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund Kristalina Georgieva has denied claims she engineered the changes made to China’s “Doing Business” report of 2018.
The allegations, raised by the World Bank, say that Georgieva and her advisor, Mr. Djankov applied pressure to have the changes made to increase China’s ease of doing business rankings.
Georgieva says she disagrees with the findings and interpretations, saying she has held an initial briefing with the IMF’s board on the issue.
Georgieva served the World Bank as its chief executive officer before shifting to IMF.
