Hertz Accelerates Electrification Efforts With Deal to Acquire 65,000 EVS From Polestar

(Hertz) American car rental company Hertz has announced a deal to buy up to 65,000 electric vehicles from Polestar over five years.

The move marks a further acceleration of the company’s goal, with a commitment to expand shared mobility through e-mobility solutions.

The availability of the vehicles is expected to start in the Spring of 2022 in Europe and at the end of the year in North America and Australia. The company will first order the award-winning EV Polestar 2.

The car rental company aims to have the largest EV fleet for hire in North America and one of the largest globally.

Hertz CEO Stephen Scherr says that the partnership with Polestar builds on its ambition to become a leader in the modern mobility ecosystem for low carbon footprint and exceptional customer experience.
