GameStop, AMC Trading Resumes after Robinhood Lifts Restrictions

Online brokerage app Robinhood has removed the temporary trading restrictions on all stocks, according to Reuters. GameStop’s trading limit set at 500 shares and AMC’s limit of 5,500 shares has all been lifted.

  • Robinhood placed trading limits on several securities following a retail trading frenzy, as clearing house-mandated deposit requirements for equities increased ten-fold.
  • Trading restrictions on a few other stocks had been lifted on Wednesday.
  • U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen vowed to protect investors and said financial market regulators needed to understand the recent trading frenzy before taking any action.

GameStop and AMC stocks are currently gaining. GME: NYSE is up 12.75% on premarket, AMC: NYSE is up 9.31% on premarket.
