(WSJ) Virgin Galactic’s Richard Branson plans to board a space flight on July 11, nine days ahead of Amazon’s Jeff Bezos.
Branson’s planned space flight would occur subject to technical and weather checks.
Virgin Galactic won’t fly beyond the Karman Line, located 62 miles above the sea level that is considered the start of space.
Virgin Galactic is yet to disclose prices for its commercial space flights, set to start next year, but its executives project costs in upwards of $500,000.
The space mission will be Galactic’s fourth crewed and the company’s inaugural flight carrying a full crew of two pilots, as well as four mission specialists.
