Ford’s Sales Drop 10.5% In April Amid EV and SUV Strengths

(Ford) The total US sales of Ford vehicles stood at 176,965 in April, representing a decline of 10.5% from the prior year.

The total sales in April comprised of 79,768 trucks, 92,809 SUVs, and 16,779 electrified vehicles

Ford maintained strengths in its electric vehicle sales, as it reported an increase of 139% from the prior year. The company attributed the strengths to Mustang Mach-E and E-Transit sales, while also confirming that its all-new F-150 Lightning model was underway. 

The automaker also said it hit a monthly record sale of SUVs in April.

Ford reported that its F-Series was boosted by improved dealer inventory flow, with sales increasing by 14.7% in April from March. 

Overall, Ford said that its market share in April increased by 1.0 percentage points. The automaker said the sales in the month outperformed the industry with a total share of 13.8%.
