The European stock market closed on a positive note on Tuesday, with the Stoxx Europe 600 index rising by 0.63% to 486.76.

Top Performing Companies
Among the constituents of the Stoxx Europe 600 index, retail company HelloFresh SE saw the largest increase as its shares added 9.5%. Shares of health care/life sciences firm Demant A/S and health care/life sciences company Evotec SE also saw substantial gains, increasing by 8.9% and 6.6% respectively. BP PLC, a fossil fuels company, and health care/life sciences business Qiagen N.V. rounded out the top five largest increases with their stocks gaining 5.5% and 4.9% respectively.
Top Decliners
On the other hand, machinery company Interpump Group S.p.A. experienced the largest drop among Stoxx Europe 600 constituents, as its shares weakened by 6.9% on Tuesday. Shares of Lotus Bakeries N.V. and banking company UBS Group AG also fell significantly, declining by 5.0% and 4.4% respectively. Julius Baer Gruppe AG, an investing/securities company, and real estate/construction company Alfa Laval AB rounded out the top five largest decreases with their stocks weakening by 4.3% and 3.8% respectively.
Currency and Commodity Update
The pound was up 0.41% against the dollar, while the euro rose by 0.04%. Brent crude oil prices increased by 1.15% to $78.89.
Bond Yields
The yield on the 10-year gilt declined by 5.23 basis points to 3.954%, and the yield on the German 10-year bund fell by 2.260 basis points to 2.30%.
