Euro Area’s Economic Sentiment Hits the Lowest in About 1.5 Years in October

(ZEW) The Economic Sentiment Index in the Euro Area was 21 in October, the lowest since March 2020. The sentiment index reflected the fifth consecutive month of decline following renewed economic growth concerns and supply chain disruptions.

16.4% of survey respondents expect the euro area to post a deterioration in economic activity. 46.2% do not expect a change in economic conditions, while 37.4% see a potential improvement.

The current economic situation index edged 6.6 points lower to 15.9. 

The gauge of inflation expectations was doing by 3 points to 17.1.

DAX is down -0.28%, EURUSD is up +0.04%.
