EIA Reports 8.0M Decline in US Crude Inventories

(EIA) The total crude oil stockpiles in the US was at an average of 413.7 million barrels in the week that ended April 15, down by 8.0 million barrels from the previous week.

The decline in stockpiles reflected an 8.1 million barrels decline in commercial petroleum inventories. Motor gasoline stockpiles fell by 0.8 million barrels, while distillate fuel inventories plunged by 2.7 million barrels.

The imports of crude oil were at an average of 5.8 million barrels per day in the week, a decline of 159,000 from the previous week. The imports averaged 6.1 million bpd in the past four weeks, up by 3.1% from the prior week.

The refinery inputs averaged 15.7 million bpd in the week to April 15, up by 194,000 bpd from the previous week. Refineries operated at 91.0% capacity.

In the past four weeks, the total products supplied were at an average of 19.4 million bpd, a decline of 1.5% from the prior year.
