DoorDash Plunges Despite an 83% Sales Increase that Beat Estimates in Q2

(DoorDash) Delivery startup DoorDash Inc. fell more than 5% on Friday premarket trading despite posting a revenue of $1.25 billion in the second quarter. The revenue was up 83% year over year and more than expected $1.09 billion.

For the six months ended June 30, revenue was $2.313 billion, up from $1.037 billion in the comparable month of 2020.

DoorDash had a net loss of $102 million in the second quarter, up from a net income of $23 million in the comparable quarter of 2020.

Net loss for the six months to June 30 doubled to $212 million, from a loss of $106 million in the comparable period of 2020.
