(Reuters) Digital World Acquisition Corp. shares rose 26% on Tuesday after the debut of Donald Trump’s social media firm, Truth Social, on Apple’s App Store.
Following the debut, Truth Social became the top free available app on the Apple’s App Store on Tuesday.
The launch, which happened on Sunday, potentially marks a return to social media of the former US president who was banned from Twitter, Google, and Facebook due to his supporters’ attack on the Capitol.
The surge in Digital World follows its announcement that it will list Trump Media & Technology Group, the firm that founded Truth Social.
Other stocks linked to Trump also rose, with Phunware up 17.9%, while SPAC CF Acquisition Corp VI jumped 5.4%.
