FARGO — As the federal government shutdown continues to impact air travel, some travelers passing through Hector International Airport say they are concerned about its effects.
Nathan Rodgers flew into Fargo from Minneapolis on Wednesday, Oct. 8, for work. He said while he has heard of flight delays at other airports, everything was “smooth sailing” at both Hector and Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport.
Right now, Transportation Security Administration agents and air traffic controllers are working through the shutdown without pay. Rodgers said that worries him.
“I hope the federal government comes to some agreement and hopefully get things back up and running, because there are some essential services and people are caught in the middle,” Rodgers said.
The Federal Aviation Administration has warned that air traffic control shortages may occur at major hubs like Houston and Chicago if the shutdown continues.
