Crude Oil Inventories Increase by 2.4 Million Barrels in the US

(EIA) The US posted a total of 416.2 million barrels of crude inventories in the week that ended January 21, up by 2.4 million barrels from the previous week. 

Crude imports fell by 0.5 million barrels per day to an average of 6.2 million bpd. The imports averaged 6.2 million bpd in the past four weeks, up 9.8% from the prior year.

Total crude refinery inputs were at an average of 15.5 million bpd, about 44,000 bpd higher than the previous week. Refineries were operating at 87.7% capacity, with gains in both gasoline and distillate fuel production.

In the past four weeks, a total product of 21.2 million bpd was supplied, increasing 11.6% from the prior year.
