(Costco) Costco reported net sales of $51.61 billion in the third quarter of 2022, an increase from $44.38 billion in the comparable quarter of 2021.
For the nine months ended May 8, the retailer posted net sales of $151.97 billion, an increase of 16.4% from the comparable period of last year.
The comparable sales rose by 14.9% in the quarter or 10.8% on an adjusted basis, while e-commerce sales were up by 7.4% or 7.9% on an adjusted basis.
In the third quarter, Costco reported a net income of $1.353 billion or $3.04 per diluted share, an increase compared to $1.2230 billion or $2.75 per share reported in the prior year. The net income in the last 36 weeks was $3.94 billion, up from $3.34 billion last year.
