Consumer Confidence Improves Slightly in the Euro Area in May, Steady in EU

(European Commission) Consumer confidence escaped months of declines after improving by 0.9 points in the euro area in May 2022.

Euro Area and EU Consumer Confidence

In the European Union, consumer confidence fell slightly by 0.4 points in May from April.

Consumer confidence is now at -21.1 points in the euro area and -22.2 points in the EU, both indicators below their long-term average.

The improved and steadying consumer confidence comes after months of declines due to the impacts of the Ukrainian war and inflation.

DAX is up +0.69%, EURUSD is down -027%.
