(IHS Markit) China saw an uptick in service sector activity as the Business Activity Index rose from a 14-month low of 50.3 in June to 54.9 in July.
The expansion in the activity index was also higher than the more than 15-years series average of 54.1.
The upturn in activity was fueled by the rise in new business, with new order growth quickening in July.
Covid-19 containment also boosted demand, although the pandemic weighed on new export orders.
Workloads rose in July, with the fastest rate of accumulation for more than a year.
Job creation was marginal as efforts to boost capacity were offset by firms seeking to minimize costs.
One-year outlook in business confidence improved from the nine-month low in June, but optimism was lower compared to the series average.
CSI 300 is up +0.90%, USDCNY is down -0.15%.
