Bored Ape Yacht Club Instagram, Discord Exploited for $13M

(Twitter) The Instagram and Discord servers of Bored Ape Yacht have been hacked, with about 54 NFTs of floor price of $13.7 million said to be stolen.

Through a Twitter post, Bore Ape Club said that an “unofficial” mint link was sent to followers. Bored Ape cautioned users not to mint anything or click links and wallets to avoid being scammed.

The scammers, through the fraudulent link, told users that they could mint “land” in its upcoming OthersideMeta, due to launch next week.

Users who clicked the fraudulent link are said to have been scammed, with a series of Mutant and Bored Apes being transferred to the hackers’ accounts.

The scamming announcement saw around 24 Bored Apes and 30 Mutant Apes being stolen. It is still not known if it were the holders moving the NFT to protect them.
