Biden Considers Big Tech Critic Lina Khan for FTC Seat

President Joe Biden is expected to name Lina Khan, a critic of Big Tech’s market power, for a seat on the Federal Trade Commission, according to Seeking Alpha. If confirmed, Khan, 32, will be the youngest FTC commissioner ever.

Khan is a law professor at Columbia University and former Democratic staffer at the FTC and Congress.

Khan served as a staffer to the House Judiciary antitrust subcommittee’s review into big tech companies last year, where she focused on Google and wrote some of the panel’s report.

Khan’s hiring comes after Biden chose another big tech critic Tim Wu last week to the National Economic Council.

In October, a House antitrust report hinted at breaking up big tech.

Big Tech stocks are currently gaining, FB is up 1.23% on premarket, AMZN is up 0.94% on premarket, GOOGL is up 1.10% on premarket, AAPL is up 0.65% on premarket, MSFT is up 1.01% on premarket.
