AT&T generated revenues of $43.9 billion in Q1 2021, up 3% from $42.8 in the same quarter of 2020, according to the company’s press release. The earnings per share was $0.86 in the quarter, up from $0.84 per share from the comparable quarter of 2020, and above estimated $0.78 a share.
AT&T added 595,000 new wireless phone subscribers in Q1.
The company’s new adds for HBO and HBO max was 2.7 million subscribers, to hit 63.9 million global subscribers.
Customer defections fell 0.1% in the quarter to 0.76% attributable to the bundling of HBO Max to higher-priced phone plans.
AT&T generated 235,000 new fiber internet users, driven by work-from-home trends.
