Asia-Pacific stocks experienced mostly positive gains on Friday, September 15th, with the Hong Kong and Japanese markets showing strength for the second consecutive session.

Hong Kong Stocks Surge

Hong Kong stocks witnessed an increase, as the Hang Seng Index (HSI) rose by 0.7% to 18,182.89.

Japanese Market Improves

In Japan, the Nikkei 225 Index of Japanese companies saw a rise of 1.1% to reach 33,533.09.

Other Market Movements

While China’s Shanghai Composite Index fell by 0.3% to 3,117.74, the FTSE Straits Times Index in Singapore showed growth by 1.0% to 3,282.94. South Korea’s KOSPI Composite Index gained 1.1% to 2,601.28, while the Australian S&P/ASX 200 Benchmark Index added 1.3% to reach 7,279.00.

  • Tokyo Gas (9531) saw the largest increase among Nikkei 225 constituents with a 4.6% rise in shares.
  • Shares of Panasonic Holdings (6752) and Sumitomo Pharma (4506) increased by 4.4% and 4.2% respectively.
  • Nippon Sheet Glass (5202) experienced the largest decrease with shares dropping by 3.3%.
  • Shares of Resona Holdings (8308) and Mitsubishi UFJ Finl (8306) weakened by 2.2% and 2.1% respectively.

  • Wuxi Biologics (Cayman) (2269) saw the largest increase among Hang Seng Index constituents with shares rising by 4.8%.
