Anheuser-Busch InBev Becomes Global Beer Sponsor of Olympic Games

Anheuser-Busch InBev, the maker of Budweiser, has been selected as a partner of the Olympic Games, with its zero-alcohol beer, Corona Cero, chosen as the official global beer sponsor for the sporting event. The International Olympic Committee announced on Friday that Anheuser-Busch InBev, which is also home to popular brands such as Stella Artois and Hoegaarden, has been designated as a Worldwide Olympic Partner until 2028.

“We are delighted to be the first beer sponsor at the Worldwide Olympic Partner level,” stated AB InBev Chief Executive Michel Doukeris.

In addition to this partnership, Anheuser-Busch InBev has also acquired marketing rights for the International Paralympic Committee and the Paralympic Games.

It is worth noting that last year, Bud Light, another brand belonging to Anheuser-Busch InBev, was appointed as the official beer of the mixed-martial arts league UFC in the United States and as its global beer partner.

The sales of Bud Light experienced a sharp decline in North America in April after a transgender social-media influencer named Dylan Mulvaney received a personalized can of the beer from the brewer as a gift and subsequently posted about it on Instagram. This led to a boycott.
