3D Systems Partner with CollPlant for Bioprinted Treatments of Breast Cancer

(3D Systems) 3D Systems has partnered with CollPlant Biotechnologies to develop a 3D bioprinted regenerative soft tissue matrix to be used in breast reconstruction procedures.

The soft tissue matrix will support the lower part of the breast to expand the implant pocket and offer increased coverage of the implant.

The 3D bioprinting will enable the matching of the patient’s anatomy to support the patient’s breast implant. 

The partnership comes amid a rise in breast cancers worldwide, with WHO reporting that 2.3 million women were diagnosed with the disease in 2020.
