US Crude Stockpiles Fall by 1.0M Barrels, Imports Also Edge Lower

(EIA) The US reported a total of 419.8 million barrels of commercial crude oil inventories in the week ending May 20, a decline of 1.0 million barrels from the prior week.

Inventories of motor gasoline fell by 0,5 million barrels, with declines also reported in finished gasoline and blending components stockpiles. Distillate fuel inventories saw a 1.7 million barrels jump.

The imports of crude oil also fell to an average of 6.5 million barrels per day, which was 82,000 bpd below the previous week. The crude imports were at an average of 6.4 million bpd over the past four weeks, up 8.6% from the prior year.

Total crude refinery inputs were at an average of 16.3 million bpd in the week, up by 334,000 bpd from the prior week. Refineries operated at 93.2% capacity.

EIA said that the total products supplied over the past four weeks averaged 19.5 million bpd, an increase of 2.1% from the prior year.
