Convicted fraudster Sam Bankman-Fried has offered a rare glimpse into life behind bars, revealing that he’s sharing a cell with none other than Sean “Diddy” Combs.
During a video interview with Tucker Carlson from the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, the former FTX mogul shared details about his unexpected cellmate. According to Bankman-Fried, Diddy has been nothing but kind to him and other inmates, despite the circumstances surrounding his incarceration.
Reflecting on prison life, Bankman-Fried acknowledged the harsh reality of confinement, emphasizing that in such a soul-crushing environment, inmates often rely on one another for support. “All we really have is each other, and that’s why kindness is key behind bars,” he said.
When asked how fellow inmates feel about being locked up alongside two of the most high-profile prisoners in the country, Bankman-Fried noted that some view it as a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Bankman-Fried has been behind bars for a year, serving a 25-year sentence for orchestrating a massive cryptocurrency fraud scheme that defrauded customers and investors. Meanwhile, Diddy remains in pretrial detention, facing serious federal charges, including racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion, and transportation to engage in prostitution. His trial is set to begin in May.
