(Bloomberg) The trading volumes of Ether on Coinbase in the first half of this year grew at 1,461% compared to Bitcoin’s 489% from the same period last year.
Ether’s trading volumes were worth $1.4 trillion after the increase, compared to $92 billion in the first half of 2020.
Bitcoin’s traded volumes were $2.1 trillion after the increase, from $356 billion traded in the first half of 2020.
Ethereum, which has an upgrade due on 4th August has been largely responsible for new apps which enable peer-to-peer borrowing, trading, and lending.
Bitcoin and Ethereum have both picked up since its decline in May over environmental effect concern and China’s crackdown.
The Coinbase report highlighted Tether as the stable coin with the highest trading volume.
