(Cheniere) Cheniere Energy Inc. has repurchased about $350 million worth of shares controlled by affiliates of Carl C. Icahn.
Cheniere says it bought the shares for $130.52 per share, the closing price on June 14, 2022.
The purchase will be financed in cash and is part of Cheniere’s $1 billion buyback program. The transaction is expected to close before June 21, 2022.
Cheniere said that Icahn would hold one board seat as per the 2015 agreement as long as it continues to hold at least 7,741,412 shares in the company.
The company said that the repurchase underlines the company’s efficient execution of its long-term capital allocation plan and conviction of its industry-leading LG platform
