Charlie Munger’s Daily Journal Corp. Dumps 50% of Alibaba Stake

(Reuters) Charlie Munger’s Daily Journal Corp. held around 300,000 shares of Alibaba as of March 31, a more than 50% reduction of stake from 602,060 at the end of 2021.

The reduced stake happens after Daily Journal almost doubled its stake in Alibaba in the fourth quarter of 2021.

In February, Munger, who has in the past stayed bullish on China, lamented the strained relations between Washington and Beijing.

Alibaba’s ADS has declined 15% this year from its 68% peak in October 2020 on an uncertain regulatory environment amid delisting fears of China’s tech giants in the US.

Munger has served as Daily Journal’s chairman for 45years before he stepped down in March. The company said he would remain as the director. He has also served as Berkshire’s vice chairman since 1978.

BABA: NYSE is down -0.14% on premarket.
